NSM and the Asian Congress of Nutrition

NSM organised the 6th Congress in this series, in September 1991. At that time, NSM was only 6 years in its formation, with a small number of members. But NSM managed to successful organise that ACN and placed NSM in the map of global nutrition science. It was a well attended congress, with delegates from over 40 countries around the globe.
It was a full 4-day congress, with all the components of an international congress: 7 plenary lectures, 120 symposia sessions, 130 free communications sessions and 158 posters. The range of nutrition topics covered was wide, appropriately reflecting the congress theme: Nutritional Challenges and Frontiers Towards Year 2000. The NSM committee published a proceedings of the 6th ACN. NSM has been given the honour to host the ACN for a second time, the 15th ACN in September 2027 in Kuala Lumpur.
